December 2021 Newsletter

Hello FSA Families.  Its been two months since the MSO was able to get out a newsletter.  Since then, the MSO has been able to sponsor three lunches for our teachers and staff, have a book fair and help recruit volunteers for the high school’s Rivers Alive and Homecoming Dance events!

Important Notices:

Used Uniform Sales!  We are in need of gently used Land’s End uniforms for our students.  Land’s End shipments have been delayed for many parents.  We plan on having sale on a Saturday before the winter break.  We are confirming a data this week and will update you with a short note so you can plan on coming to the sale.  You can donate uniforms during morning drop off by giving them to to your student to drop off in the boxes inside the front entrance.

Highlights…

BOOK FAIR!

We had an extremely successful book fair this year!  We raised over $5300 for FSA on sales totaling$17500!
Our school will use these proceeds on books for the school library and other items for classrooms!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parent who volunteered to make this a success. The volunteers set up the book fair, painted murals on the windows, hung decorations, managed sales during the week, and helped breakdown and cleanup at the end of the fair.

If you would like to volunteer for MSO, please add your name to our volunteer list on our Get Involved page.

This list may not be complete and may contain misspellings as I pulled names from the sign up and we didn’t get a chance to add volunteers who were able to help last minute. I apologize for not including your name, please email me at hemang.shah@fsamso.org if I missed your name or I need to correct the spelling:

We were not able to celebrate Thanksgiving at the school this year again, so we’ve come up with a great idea on how we can make up for this virtually. Click here for more details on how you can get participate!

Coming Soon…

As you all have seen from Dr. Sener’s weekly emails, Fulton Science Academy has been awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award for 2021!  The MSO is working on a small gift for all families to thank you for your part in contributing to earning this award.  We plan on delivering these to your students before the winter break!

Teacher & Staff Luncheons

The MSO hosts teacher luncheons throughout the year to show our appreciation for our teachers.  Each luncheon is sponsored by different grades, with the MSO providing meals.  MSO will reach out to the Room Parents for the grade that is selected for each month to decorate and help distribute lunches. Visit our teacher lunches page to see pictures.

Volunteering Opportunities

If you would like to volunteer for any MSO events, please signup on our get involved page. You can select which events you may be interested in. This is our “go-to” list for events. We will only reach out to parents through our personal relationships and as a last case, directly to FSA parents if we are short volunteers for specific events.
